Accessibility Statement

This statement was last updated on 4th May 2026.

We at Active BITS are working to make our site activebits.com.au accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that every visitor should be able to browse, understand, and interact with our site with ease, regardless of ability or the technology they use.

What web accessibility means

An accessible website allows visitors with disabilities to browse, navigate, and interact with content at the same or a similar level of ease as other visitors. This is achieved through inclusive design, proper content structure, and compatibility with assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and voice control.

Our Commitment

We are working to align this site with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, which is the standard referenced by the Australian Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) and recommended by the Australian Human Rights Commission.

As part of this effort, we have taken the following steps:

  • Used the hosting platform's Accessibility Wizard to identify and address potential accessibility issues

  • Set the language of the site to English (Australia)

  • Defined clear heading structures across all pages to support screen reader navigation

  • Added alternative text to meaningful images across the site

  • Implemented colour combinations that aim to meet the required contrast ratios

  • Ensured the site can be navigated using a keyboard

  • Reduced the use of motion and animation where possible

Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time task. We regularly review our site to identify and resolve accessibility barriers. As we add new content or features, we aim to maintain or improve the accessibility of the experience.

We acknowledge that some areas of our site may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards. We are actively working to close any gaps.

Third-Party Content

Certain elements of our site rely on third-party services (such as the hosting platform, embedded forms, and external integrations). While we strive to ensure these components are accessible, we cannot guarantee full compliance for content or functionality outside of our direct control.
